Downloading AVG?

If I download it, will it change my settings on AIM and MySpace? Or will it leave them alone?
 
It wont do anything by just downloading it :)
I suppose it wont do anything to AIM even after installing too.
 
AVG is not like Norton....it doesn't screw with anything on your system. It just does exactly what it says it does.

Norton makes another anti-virus product similar to AVG for a fee, it usually causes the program to run lots of memory-hungry processes in the background and sometimes changes various program settings.

The only thing I can think of is that an anti-virus program will make the change in AIM for it to be the default scanner of attachments, transfers, etc. It won't cause AIM to stop working though.
 
it wont mess with any thing such as softwares or webpages, unlike norton anti virus, it will block microsoft outlook config settings (some anyway).
- AVG is just a security thing protecting your pc.
- some anti virus softwares can block services such as windows live messenger.
