Dorky question about network ports

I just got World of Warcraft for PC. For those unfamiliar, it's an online game. My university's server blocks anything and everything. However, the game gives me certain, specific port numbers that, if opened, I can play. Unfortunately, I'm not a server admin. Is there any way I can sneak around this just from my PC, or am I blocked 'till summer?

Most educational networking facilities have quite high level security.

I don't think there's anyway to avoid this, and I wouldn't recommend it either. If they've blocked it, they obviously don't want you going on it.

I recommend you speak with your network administrator.

Check out a utility called netcat...If you can understand networking netcat will allow you to change ports host it off of remote machine and connect to it first... Research it.
