I have this old computer that I want to fix for my brother and don't know what sound card and graphic card drivers I need is there anyway to find out which ones I need

Without the make and model for each card there you are in a bottomless pit there. You have to know the chip manufacturer at least to try the sites like omegadrivers.net or some other site that still has drivers for the older hardwares. I have a few video and sound cards here we could swap and still get nowhere. Once you have something to work with a good search can help.

Yup... know the motherboard at least.. if its integrated its easier to find.. do you know the MANUFACTURER of any of the cards?

Is this on a prebuilt system like a CompaQ x20372(example only) model or on a custom case? Sometimes you can track download the drivers by simply looking up the model number. Driver sets are usually rolled into one download for systems with onboard video and sound being used.

Make sure to look for information on the cards themselves for any information seen there as far serial numbers, chip series, etc. since some of the off sites that carry the older driver sets may list by one of those rather then by make and model. That's due to the same card being used in a prebuilt where you only see those and not the rest.
