Hi...I just bought a belkin dual band A+G 108mbps router the other day. I also have a Netgear WG511 Network card for my laptop that is 54mbps. For some reason when I try to use the network card it seems really slow. Does anyone know if I was suppose to buy the 108mbps network card? Should I go return my router N get a wireless G only? Has anyone ever used the Dual band A+G before? is it any good ? Thank.....

What band does your wireless card support? The fact that the router is A + G shouldnt make a difference. Also, are you sure youre getting a strong signal? Also, keep in mind, the "108 mb/s" is the highest transfer rate. You will never even come close to that over the internet or a LAN.

The wireless card supports 802.11b as well as 802.11g...I've been recieving a strong signal but sometimes I'll have to refresh the page to view the website.

All the hardware you listed should be compatible with each other, If you only have a 54mbps card and a 108mbps router then the max transfer speed with be only 54mbps because your card can not work at a higher speed.

You have talked anout the signal strenght but you need to check the speed of the signal strenght i.e. 11mbps or 54mbps, what speed does it say its connected at?

Remember your Internet connection is probably alot less than your network speed, if your router is running at a speed of 54mbps it should easily carry a 1mb or even 2mb broadband connection.

Have you tried other avenues? virus', trojans, spyware, other browsers? you can test your internet speed here, post back what connection you are paying for and what download speed the test results are in kbps, make sure all other internet applications are closed down and run the test.
