Im housesitting for a family member and Im trying to connect my HP Pavilion N5210 with a 2Wire PC Card to her DLink wireless router. So far no luck. I do not have the startup CD for the router. I dont know if i will need it but I think she may have taken it with her laptop. Is there something or anything I can do to connect it or do i need the CD? I was under the impression that as long as my 2Wire was WiFi, which it is, it would work. My operating system is Windows ME. My 2Wire worked fine a home so i know its working fine. There is no Key on the bottom of her router or modem. Any help is appreciated!

I think you should just be able to connect it with windows, but if you have ME, sometimes that doesn't work.

You may need a network key (WEP) if she has one put on the wireless network.

it should. plug in your card and enable it in network places and then try to searcch for network, you should see it on the side assuming you have XP

How do i connect with windows? Can you possibly tell me step by step? As far as the Key, is there a way to hack it? Or is there somewhere else it may be?

Way2Evil I have Windows ME not XP.

No way to hack WEP keys unless you are very experienced. If you have ME, is there software that came with your 2Wire that allows you to comfigure it?

Look there for any info on how to connect.

if you talk about hacking, a mod will lock this so stay away from it. if they have a router, go on one of their desktops and type in 192.168.0.1 and keep changing 0 with 0,1,2,3,4.
