directing audio signals

I was wondering if there was a way to direct which port certain audio signals go to?

right now I have a digital out going from my computer to a receiver, then surround sound. And obviously a headphone jack.

I was wondering if I could stop a certain signal from going to the digital out? I like to play a few games, but I also like to listen to the news or whatever is on tv in the background, but would like the game isolated to headphones.

Is this possible? Thanks.
 
youd have to go into the sound options on the games and set the default output device to headphone jack rear or front which ever you prefer
