Budget? Because the Nikon D90 makes a darn good video camera
There's also the camcorder I usually suggest, the Aiptek ActionHD GVS. Photos aren't that great, but videos are quite good for such a low priced camera.
under 2,000 under 1,000 around that price. i read up on the D90 recently because I was thinking of buying it for taking pictures and using it as a video camera but all the reviews say the video is shaky when you move the camera or if the object you are video taping moves too fast.
Hmm... I just looked at a sample video and it doesn't seem as smooth as what I thought I'd seen in the past. But it's also aimed at being an SLR, thus movies are simply an added bonus I guess...
I think a good number of Point and Shoot cameras offer HD capabilities now. I've really not fiddled around with them personally. It may be worth heading to some electronics store and trying out various cameras. I'm pretty sure some of the latest Kodak's have HD capabilities, but geezes I tried one for a minute and ended up walking away because the menus were so unintuitive and confusing!
