Does anyone know how to help me set up a network so that a few computers can connect to the internet using the same dial up connection? Is there a specific type of router or hub that I would need?

All the computers would be running Windows 98 and/or XP.
Thanks!

any router will be able to do this, however are you on dial up or broadband. I dont know if you can use a router on a dial up line. Also are you wanting to use wires or wireless networking?

Unfortunately, we are on dial up (too far in the boonies for broadband). Hopefully I can still do this with dial up.

Also I had planned to use wires for the network.

you can use any hub or switch to share your internet through other network computers. since your in a dial up mode, you can configure your dial up settings to internet connection sharing. got to dial up properties and then in advance option select or check (allow other network users to connect through this computers etc.
simple as that.

hope it''ll help you
