DHCP connection fails on wifi card

Hi, i have recently baught a new modem router and have since been unable to connect my laptop to the internet, the wifi card flashes and the router flashes back but the connection light fails to initiate, i belive it has a problem connecting to the dhcp on the router but am unsure, i have tried to let windows configure it for me automaticaly with no joy, i have also tried to manualy configure it specifying the setting to what i believe they should be and having tried almost every configuration on the router! As you can imagine the speed of this laptop makes it even more enfuriating and with win me wanting to reboot to confirm settings all the time it really is getting on my nerves!
i have also rebuilt the dns, socks 1/2 stacks as a last resort, but still no joy!

This pcmcia wifi card came with the orrigional 3com router before it went haywire, (maybe its locked to 3com routers only!)

Any help greatly appriciated, all i need it to do is browse the internet!

I am sure you have already done this but uninstalling the wifi card and restarting the computer and let the computer try to find the wifi card itself has worked for me before. Hope it helps
