desperate for a fix sound issues!

when i play a song in itunes whenever i scroll through my music or scroll through the left hand panel my song becomes very distorted and crackly but as soon as i stop scrolling it becomes normal. it also happens a bit when i do photo editing and scanning with picasa. i've attached a sample of what happens in a sounds recording. When the audio becomes distorted that is when i am scrolling on the left hand panel of itunes. pleeease help i am sick to death of this and i have no idea what to do.

Sounds like you're having latency trouble. Download this program and see if you get any latency spike.

I had this issue before and fixed it by changing minimum CPU state to 100%.

It may also help to update your video driver.

yes i was getting massive spikes as your said. by disabling my display driver it did fix the issue however i don't want to keep working with this disabled as it makes my resolution all shitty... i have updated to the most recent driver from ATI but that did not fix the issue. you said you changed your cpu state how did you do that?
