Desktop problem

How did you try to shortcut it?

I usually just:

Open Start
Click and hold Computer(My computer or whatever yours has) which should be on the right hand side.
Drop it onto your desktop.
 
1. right click on screen
2. select "properties"
3. click on "desktop" tab
4. click on "customize desktop" at bottom
5. put a check mark in the "my computer" box under "desktop icons" at top
6. click ok
