press print screen to take the picture

open up paint and press ctrl+v to past the picture in

save it

there you go, can print screen anything at all on your screen that you like

To take a picture of your desktop the easiest way is to hit the "Print Screen" button. It will appear as if nothing has happened but then if you open a Paint document and hit Ctrl + V or right-click and hit paste, it will paste the picture of the state of your desktop when you hit "Print Screen".

You can also use the snipping tool if you have Vista / Windows 7.

Are you using a Mac, or just using a Mac keyboard on a PC?

Or shift + PrtSc, if on a netbook. Not sure about Mac though

Copy the photo (even better save photo as) file name, make sure you are in a folder you will remember, save. Done. Oi. That was hard eh?
