Recently rebuilt my computer in a new case and some new specs. Let me know what you think. Excuse my crappy picture quality.

couple of things.

1. Rotate the HSF 90* in either direction. The temps will be better with it intakeing cool air, instead of the warm air coming off teh rear of the GPU.

2. Cable management is okay, except for at the bottom right hand side. and the Fan of the HSF. Run its cable down between the HSF and the I/O panel. The cab,es at teh bottom right, run them through the hole that your PSU cables are running through, and it will be a cleaner look.

Since I have an AMD chip the cooler can either go down or up so it's stuck that way. As for the other cable management the grommet that has all the PSU cables is completely jammed as it is and I don't exactly know what cables you're wanting me to move. I realized after I put the fan on that the cable was in a weird place. I may fix that at some point but for now it's okay

Trust me I tried, it only goes one way. If you rotate the cooler ninety degrees you can't put the bracket on and if you look at the back of the mobo in one of the pictures the screw points aren't pefectly square, but only on way. It's impossible to mount the other way.

I see what you mean about the cables. I may try that but not sure all the cables will fit.

Can you put the fan on the other side? That way it would be pulling fresh air from the top case fan instead of warm air from the GPU? That should leave the HS in place, and improve cooling.

Top case fan is exhaust but I suppose I could flip it. Don't see much point in doing that though and blowing hot air in to the rest of the case at my GPU. I haven't OC'd yet but my CPU's sitting at about 30 at idle with stock paste and I hear the paste normally cures and works better after some use.

stock paste is not the best. You would have about 5* less with AS5.

It appears to have to be a trade off. Better CPU temps, or better GPU temps. I always opt for the first.

Stock paste is fine unless I'm really pushing my OC which I probably won't be doing. Normally only a difference of a couple degrees or so. My CPU is currently 14 degrees colder than my GPU even though I'm downloading something and is somewhat using the CPU while otherwise it's just Chrome open.

the stock coolermaster paste runs about 5* hotter from my experiences with it. Its a ceramic paste, which is some of the less performing paste out.

If you are happy with the cooler setup, then leave it put. It could perform better, but again, your call.

1. AMD with retention clip. The clip is top and bottom, you can't turn it because the heatpipes are in the way on the HSF and there are no clips on the side. It isn't a square with 4 holes like Intel is, unless you get a cooler like a Megahalems or DH14 where is has held on with screws rather than the clip.

If you go bottom to top air flow, the way the cooler is orientated is correct and it will also give very good performance. The air from the graphics card is not very noticeable warmer than the internal temperature, because the PCB doesn't radiate massive amounts of heat.

The best thing to do is to leave the top as exhaust and to move the front intake to the bottom so it pulls up. The airflow is then like a 700D/800D or a Raven.

Can you put the fan on the other side? That way it would be pulling fresh air from the top case fan instead of warm air from the GPU? That should leave the HS in place, and improve cooling.

Top to bottom won't work. It will reduce airflow and it will potentially cause still pockets of warm air as it tries to rise but is pushed back down, you can't get any worse than trying to get the airflow like that.

2. For those cables, cable tie them all together and they should be able to just tuck behind the bottom corner of the mobo. It won't be all that pretty (more than it is now, but still with cables visible), but they will be out of the way. As they are now they aren't obstructing airflow substantially, so it isn't even entirely necessary

Lookin good, even if the front of those cases are somewhat :/

He added the front top led.:good: The stock one is at the bottom. Could put the one that moves the most air, at the bottom. Or put one in the case bottom.

Edit:
Looks good Denther. I like the blue and white.

If you rotate the cooler's fan you can manage that cable differently.
I would put the top 120 in the front bottom. Or if 2 led's was too much led for the front, I'd swap places with the 2 front fans since having the led at the bottom might look better. Then the remaining 120 in the case bottom, and just not have a second fan on the top of the case if I didnt want to get another 140 right now. Or, front bottom led, rear led, stock at the case bottom and front top. That way you still have led in the top of the case.

If you want to do anything with the cables, I have a couple ideas.
I've used paint and an artist brush on the exposed colored parts of the cables. I've also used shrink wrap tape right there, which might be more warranty friendly.
Looks like you have some good space in the back of the case around the edges (for cables).
For that I've used flexable tubing to house the cables and ran it around the edge. Also used L shape aluminum which can cover the unhoused cables around the edges, and be installed without having to secure it since the fit will hold it in place. Sounds exp but its not. Less than 20 for 3 pieces, for metal and cut to fit, sheetmetal shop for the 90º bend, and spray paint. Or of course, the trusty zip tie.

What Aastii said about the cooler.

Thanks Benny. I may go back in and really work on some stray cables but overall I think it looks really good and is far better than what I had before. I had to get the help of somebody else to put in my CPU power cable since the coolers was in the way. I don't want to seriously do anything with cables except just tie them down and possibly rearrange them a bit.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Looks good other then those few wires. Keep the heatsink/fan the way it is, if not just move the fan to the top as a puller and exhaust it through the top exhaust fan like Aastii said.

Yeah it's a massive improvement over the previous 'cable management' you had in the Challenger, but you might just want to tidy up those cables a little bit.

Otherwise it's looking great! :good:

I "fixed" the CPU fan. It's still on the same side but the wire is on the bottom and less visible. To make it pull air through and be right below the exhuast would require me to take out both fans and redo the fan fittings with the anti vibration gaskets and I didn't want to mess with that. Especially since I don't expect to see much if any difference. I fixed on of the cables and tried to hide them a bit better but they're pretty much the same.

One thing of note. The 140mm right above the CPU coolers makes the metal mesh above it quiet warm but the 120mm exhaust right next to it is super cold. I "almost" have a push pull setup simply because the 140mm is so close the top of the cooler.

Loving my new setup.

Also nearly silent due to me being able to turn down all the case fans with a single switch. Probably one of my favorite things about the case.

Nice case!
Also for me it would be handy to upgrade my case, but I've no money cuz of my hd7950...
Good luck with the cable management further, you got an awesome case to fo it.
