Dell M2010 Sound quit

I have a Dell M2010 that I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows7. Worked fine til I got on internet, sound quit and it told me my copy of Windows was not genuine. I finally got my Windows7 code input correctly, and everything seems to work fine except I have no sound. I checked my drivers, did update and it told me I already had the correct driver. I'm not muted, and sound is turned up. This thing has 9 built-in speakers and it sounds really nice. Any suggestions? Thanks

Check to make sure the audio output is set correctly. Make sure its set to use onboard audio and not hdmi.

John, when I searched "audio output", I was able to run a trouble shoot. It told me the external speakers were not plugged in. Where do I find the place to check for "onboard audio"?

Thanks

Do you have the speakers plugged into the green jack on the back of the motherboard?

Go into control panel and into sounds and on the playback tab make sure you have the correct output set correctly, follow the image I linked to.
