Dell Latitude D510 Sound Issue

I have a Dell Latitude D510 and it only plays music when hooked up to a set of speakers. It also will not connect to the TV to use as a monitor either. I have a VGA x VGA connection and the same setup works on other Dell laptops here so I don't know what else to do. Windows 7 is the operating system.

Dell's can be fairly picky with their drivers, particularly sound drivers. I'd see if they have some posted for 7 or Vista. As for VGA, find the latest drivers from Intel (or whoever makes the GPU in the laptop) and see if using the GPU's control panel helps control the video outs better.
