Dell 2850 running RAID 5. Looking for backup recommendations for my situation

First of all, I need to tell you that I have 2 servers and will be running DFS for redunancy.

I have my D drive as the data storage drive and want to establish a backup without resorting to tape. Now, here are the requirements on my plate:

1. No loss of data in case of failure.
2. Daily backup that stays backed up for a month.
3. Quick recovery in case of failure.

Now, I realize RAID 5 and running DFS across 2 server will be pretty redundant, but then thought about the possibility of a user modifying one of the Autocad drawings that they all share, and possibly deleting it, or damaming beyond belief. I have setup a share for the users, but what i was thinking about doing was scheduling an XCOPY that copies the files to a directory only admins have access to and it would run every night. However, how do i manage to keep it from growing? without purchasing software, what is the best method for what I need?

Thank you!

Is it Windows2003? if so.. enable Volume Shadow copy for files, on that drive (rightclick the drive/properties...). With VSS for files, you can browse to a file, right click it and there will be an extra tab called "Previous versions", in there are previous versions of the file you can restore to, on the fly, or if it was deleted, go to the previous versions tab of the folder the file was in, it will allow you to copy it to another location, then you can put the file back from there. VSS for files has cut my tape restores by at least 90% (thank you Microsoft).

As for a live backup, get a NAS device, and run Symantec Live State, (or Acronis TrueImage has a comparable program that works fabulous). They will backup (via volume shadow copy), your partitions or entire drives, LIVE! The NAS should be able to allow you to store plenty. Good luck :)
