Delete Key won't work

I get this problem every now and then...where the Delete Key won't delete things when I hit that button on a file. It will make a loud "BING" sound from Vista without a text warning but just an audio warning...indicating it's just not gonna listen to me.

Anyone have this problem know if I'm doing something wrong? Or maybe pressing a button that disallows my delete key to work? I usually have to recover my computer to Yesterday or something to re-get it back...but I'm tired of doing it that way since I'm sure there's a more simple answer...
 
what kind of keyboard is it? do you have drivers for it (setpoint, etc.) or is it just a basic keyboard? i'd try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver if you have one.
 
i recommend trying a new keyboard and if problem still exists then mess around with the keyboard settings by going start > control panel and looking under keyboard settings. ;)

Big bump but this keyboard is built into my laptop. It does this from time to time. It's more of a software malfunction than a hardware malfunction...because when I hit restore to yesterday it's back to normal.

I'm not looking to solve the symptom of right clicking delete...I'm looking to solve the problem of why the f**k it keeps doing this and making me have to restore to yesterday.
