Default Settings in BIOS

I have a couple of questions I hope the forum can answer for me, tried a few forums & can’t seem to get a straight answer, it’s always a general response & doesn’t answer my questions totally.

I built a ssf pc a few months back for light office work, no gpu, no gaming, just an extra pc for whatever, very basic. Motherboard is an ASUS z390i with an updated bios version to 3006 with an air cooler on a i5-8500 cpu. I had ASUS update the bios, I didn’t feel comfortable doing it myself, and didn't want to brick the board. Temps were 33C at idle after creating 2 custom fan curves in the bios. Was happy with those results since it is a very small case. Under load it goes as high as 45C - 52C then back to 33C. Temps holding steady after a few months. Recently I was in the bios looking at other settings in the tabs, I inadvertently changed some settings without realizing it until I clicked ok upon exit, now my idle temps are 40C. Herein lies my questions:

(1) There are 2 ways to reset the bios to factory settings, Easy Mode>Default(F5) & Advanced Mode(F7)>Exit>Load Optimized Defaults. Are they the same or different ways to reset the bios?

(2) My updated new bios version is 3006, if I reset the bios back to factory settings will it change the bios 3006 to the earlier outdated version originally installed on the board by ASUS thus having to update the bios back to 3006?

In short, by resetting the new bios version 3006 will it just reset the items within that bios version 3006 or completely wipe it clean & reverting to the original version that was originally installed at time the board was manufactured? Looking forward to hearing from you....Jp

When resetting bios it will only set all the settings back to manufacturers default, it will not change your bios version. There may be slight differences between default and optimized settings.

Thanks for your response. I've been trying to get a straight answer about the bios version staying the same or reverting back for a couple weeks now. I'm finally making some progress. I'm going to keep looking into it, I could just do one at a time and see what happens. Everything from ASUS comes as optimized settings from what I've read. Much appreciated.
