Hey guys,
I've been needing a new computer but I do not know much about them. I don't even know if I should get a laptop or desktop. I just need something that I can work, stream movies/videos, do some light gaming, video chat and surf the web with fast. I need something with a long lifespan and that I can pay monthly for and is fairly inexpesive (college student). My girlfriend uses the computer a lot and we will be sharing it so the computer will be in use a lot of the time if that makes a difference.

Currently I am looking at 1 desktop and 1 laptop.

Desktop: HP HP185210 All in one desktop 18.5'/ 2gb RAM/ 500gb HDD

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite C55T/B5349 Touchscreen Notebook 15.6" / 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD

Which would be a better choice? Also if you have any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Preferably from a store that I can pay monthly at. Thank you very much to those who take the time to help me out, when it comes to buying a computer i'm clueless.

First of all, what type of gaming are you talking about? What games?

Secondly, the HP all in one is terrible with only a 1.35 ghz dual core processor and only 2gb of ram. That thing will be slow as heck.

Thirdly, the laptop isn't memory upgradeable, you are stuck at 4gb. The processor is only dual core at 1.7 ghz.

I wouldn't look at anything less than a quad core of more then 2ghz and 4-8gb of ram. If any decent gaming, you will need a desktop with a dedicated video card.
