Cybershot?

Are the Sony CyberShot cameras a good choice?

I currently have a Kodak EasyShare, and the movie clips don't even have sound on it... it is really annoying. :(

Does anyone know if they [Sony] are good on battery life?

depends on the camera model because no makes their camera exactly the same. there will always be goods and bads to it. are you looking for specific qualities? or just general point and shoot pictures and movies?

if it's something general.. i'd recommend going for something other than sony because sony is quite expensive where you can get something along the same specs for cheaper.

I guess the reason I'm leaning towards Sony is because I've used it before; a relative has one, I just like the way the cybershots function, thats all.

Are there cheaper cameras that will actually have sound on movies? [and are reliable]

it definately depends on what you are going to use it for if its just a day to day taking picturse for fun then use it if not and you want serious good pictures then i would have to reccomend a cannon digital rebel es they are amazing we have 2 for wedding photography we do

try looking at some of the compact digi cameras then, great pics but not too bulky, sony T range is quite good, casio exilim (the one i have :D ) can find a lot of these on ebay for really good prices now

If you are making so many movies, why dont you get a video camera? they make some nice 3.5MP or so ones that make great movies... and people, please spell Canon right... there is only one N

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5, and it's great. It takes good pictures and it takes 640x480 movies with sound @ 30FPS. If you wanna see what kind of pictures it takes go to the "Post your unedited pictures" thread.

I have a video camera, its old though, its a sony handycam.

It's huge, and clunky, and can't take still images; so a digital camera that can also do videos would be good, and thats it.
