Do you REALLY need the 860? Or are you doing it for bragging rights?

I would think that the 920 would be more than enough and also allow more spending money on something else in your set up

well the 860 and the 920 both cost nearly the same with 920 costing $10 cheaper than the 860 so thats why i chose the 860
and i heard the 920 is for overclocking which i doubt i am going to do

Actually that's on LGA1156, and it's a lower model number, LGA1156 is cheaper because of less DDR3 chips needed and the motherboards are less expensive. Bragging rights would be an i7 940 :P

was wondering if i should go for the cheapest motherboard that would support my build and invest in other things or should i get a decent motherboard?

what motherboard would be decent for this build?

Your right. I was on amazon looking at Cds and just typed in the 860 to check prices. Amazon wants $330 for the 860, but i just newegg had the price you had listed...:P
