Crysis CRASHING on aircraft carrier

I'm up on the deck fighting that huge alien bastard with guass rifle and rocket launcher, and all of a sudden it freezes, audio stops, and i have the ctrl+alt+del to see the "crysis has stopped working" message. I've checked all my drivers and just updated to catalyst 9.8 and it's still happening. I even lowered settings to medium @ 1024x768 without filters and it's still occuring. it only happens when i'm facing that huge alien S.O.B and there's a lot of action on screen. it first gets choppy then freezes. Crysis is patched to 1.2 version.
Any ideas? I can't get any further if it keeps crashing. other than that the game runs smooth without crashes and i'm liking the story :)
 
Patch it up again, I think it's 1.5
Plus it's a lot of things happening, I know you have a new rig and such, but maybe it's too much and you area running lots of different things at the same time making it slower?

That's all I can think of ATM.
 
Physical memory usage is only 1.8gb, page file around 2gb.. you say theres a 1.5 patch? better get on google
 
It appears that the 1.5 patch is for warhead and crysis wars only.
Still can't complete the level without it crashing. and somehow i also fell through the aircraft carrier. :confused::confused::confused:
 
Well i've just done a clean format due to USB issues, i'll install and patch again later... then there is the matter of getting up to that part again, i didnt save my saves :(
 
I'm pretty sure Crysis' patch goes up to 1.4, my friend gave me the patches so I can't say where he got them from :o
But, hmm maybe go down to EB games/ gamestronic (whatever is closest) and just talk to them about it.
 
the crash happens after a couple of respawns, maybe the memory isnt being released? Normally, crysis is using 1.8gb of my 2gb... good thing i have another 1gb coming in the mail!

EDIT: speaking of mail, i just got crysis warhead. It's the EA download version though, but it's all working. I'm just about to play it!

Hello. I ran across your post on google and wanted to know if you ever found a fix for this problem. My dad just called me and is having the same problem at the same part and I cant seem to find a fix anywhere. He lives pretty far from me so I cant just drive over the check it out.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
nope, i haven't. I've stopped playing it now.

Some people report that playing on the lowest settings and lowest resolution can allow you to get past the crash. they also saved frequently.
 
i had the same problem in the same spot, i had to run it in direct x 9 mode and no crashes whatsoever. Also i had to do the same thing in warhead.
 
Just finished the game the problem is definantly dx10 related dx 9 mode and windows xp installations run the game perfectly smooth on Crysis and Crysis warhead.
