Can someone please give me start to finish directions to connect 2 PC's (one W98, one 2000) via a crossover so I can get the files off of the 98 machine to the 200 machine? Any/all help greatly appreciated.

thee is a difference between a reg ethernet cable and a cross over cable. When you go computer to computer you need a cross over cable. You plug it directly into both ethernet port f each PC. Then run the internet connection sharin wizard...

I dont know ow wi8 will react to that though...

You may just wanna pop the hd out and put it in the newer pc. Much easier.

From what I've heard, it's trickier with W98, but certainly possible to do. You'll obviously need ethernet cards on both PCs. Go to microsoft.com and check out their knowledge base.
