What speakers did you buy and are they active or passive speakers?

im not sure what speakers they are or if they are active or passive speakers.

i think iv found the speakers, Creative Inspire T6100 Speakers
its just the two on each end. it would seem that the problem is that its the wrong plug (not sure of its name but i think its for a sub) and its too loose however i do get some audio from them, do you think that i would be able to remove the plug and replace it with a headfone plug?

It's not loud because they are passive speakers, meaning they rely external power. By using an adapter and hooking it up directly to the computer, the speakers are only powered by the tiny amount of power outputted by your soundcard. Those speakers are meant to be used as a part of a 5.1 surround sound setup powered by the amps in the subwoofer.

You'll need the rest of the set for it to work correctly. You could also buy an amp/receiver and try to hook it up that way, though you'll need to match the impedance and wattage of the speakers.
