Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value?

I'm looking to buy a Sound Card for the new pc i'm building and i just wanted to ask you guys if the following card is any good:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value.
I really don't want to spend much but i want a card that i will be able to watch DVDs with and play the more recent games with. :o
 
onboard sound isnt that bad ya know. if watching dvds and playing games is all your doing then dont worry about a dedicated soubnd card.
 
u dont need audigy. trust me. i bought the sound blaster live 24bit. 5.1 and it owns my onboard SIS Audio. although that did support EAX. running BF2, the SBLive is great.. no probs on high, EAX, X-FI. enabled. with the renderer on hardware. my friend has that same audigy u want. i think mine sounds better. there is absolutely no diff..
 
let me help, i've had onboard audio, a Sound blaster Live! 5.1, an Audigy 2zs, and now an X-Fi. And i have to say, the sounds you hear are amazing betweek the Live! and the audigy 2zs, so much extra sound its hard to exlplain. Best buy has an Audigy4 for $80, and if that is too high for you, then i would suggest an Audigy2 Value or ZS. Now most likely those prices will come down since the X-Fi was released.

And oh ya, my X-Fi is way better then the audigy2zs, playing halo sound much better! So i would say get a dedicated card.

And dragon, watchine movies and playing games is the main reason you get a sound card!
