not sure if this is in the right section
Last week i went to update the bios on a Dell Precision Desktop T7400. the computer uses an array of 2 drives RAID 0. after the bios update. no boot device could be found. the array is listed as active but still doesnt boot. we have a second set of drives, and they dont boot after the array is activated. i have a feeling we may need to delete and make a new array that the new bios will detect but im afraid deleting the array will delete all data.
when the bios was updated, the SAS config utility was not and it still doesnt work.
one thing wierd i noticed, the old bios's interface was dell's new design which even had mouse support. but the new bios that i got from dell's website, was released earlier this year, but it looks like a bios from 10 years ago. did i get the wrong one?
it was an option update according to dell. but the worst part is, dell only gives exe for the bios update that need to be launched in windows, but i cannot even boot into a windows to possible revert to the old bios.
Does anyone have any ideas?
thanks
