cpu cooling choice

Looking to swap the stock cooler from my cpu, want this thing to be completely silent and the cpu cooler is about the only thing i can hear in the P180.

thought i would go passive with the scythe ninja as obviously no fan is gonna definately be quiet. I know that a lot of coolers are "silent" but i like this thing.

Has anyone had much experience with this, what kinda temps are you getting with it cos obviously it would be nice if it reduced the temps too

so nododys ever used a ninja then?

Well since no one's answering, I'll tell you that I saw a nice review on the ninja once. Looks like a very nice passive cooler. If you have the room for it, you could also get the Sonic Tower, from Thermaltake wich is a really nice company. Here's a link.

But I'm sure the ninja will do fine, it'll keep your temps low enough.

If you want to eventually overclock, it might be better to get active cooling.

cheers for that fella,

had spotted the sonic tower although not seen it in direct comparison to the ninja yet. So far the ninja seems to have been the best performing of the passive's but i'll have a look at reviews to see how the tower does.

Did pic of it in a p180 rig so seems to fit well.

Not planning overclocking at all, pretty happy with mine as is at the moment and you can attatch a 120mm fan to any side of the ninja to bring it into active

In that case the ninja will do fine for your needs, since the 3200+ Venice (the same as mine) at stock speeds is very cool, and doesn't go very hot. And the fact you can make the ninja active is fantastic if you want to overclock eventually, or just stay cooler  .
