Could do with some help!

So I'm a newbee here, and could use some advice etc.

At the minute, I have an Acer laptop, it was a present off my mum and dad for my 18th, so it's 2 years old.

The web cam in it keeps unplugging itself, and for me to fix it I have to re-start my whole laptop again. It also has a bad habit of turning off when ever it feels like it! Even though I don't have it anywhere near hard surface, I allow the heat to move through without it being trapped in beds/sofas or desks. And it's really starting to annoy me now!

I've been looking at getting a mac.

Currently, I'm saving for a car, but I've lasted so long without one, I'm ok on my bike and what with fuel going up, insurance quite pricey then with MOT's and more taxes, what I was saving wasn't really going to pay for all of that.

So I was thinking of putting that money towards a new laptop/computer instead, much cheaper in the long run!

I've been admiring those MacBook air since they came out! I love them! I don't really like the MacBook Pro, but then I saw the iMacs. And I think their nice too, my question with this is, could you also treat it as a T.V as some people do with other computers? I don't have a T.V in my room through my own choice, as I always use my laptop, but that may be a bit better than if I were to get the 13" MacBook air.

Can anyone help?

okay, a few things here. Macbooks, they are good, but severely overpriced. They are no where near worth what you get.

You could use them as a TV, I know netflix and Hulu will work on them, probably others.

I would suggest getting a good PC and having done with it.

Or just move to the U.S. We pay less than half of what you do for gas...uh, petrol, and when you turn 25 (or get married) your insurance goes down a lot. Then you could afford both a computer and a car! We do ride bikes here, but for health reasons, not transportation. Also, a word of advice, if you ever make it to the U.S., don't take a bus. As one comedian said, it's a "mental ward on wheels".

Incidentally, this wasn't one of my most helpful post. But good luck with everything.
