Corsair SP2500

I picked up this system today and while it's good music is MUCH louder then anything else. If I listen to music on 2 it's loud, but anything else like movie trailers and games I have to turn it up half way to hear anything. Does anyone else own the same system have this issue? I'm using on board sound btw. I've also tried all the eq settings with no result. Here is the link: http://www.corsair.com/pc-computer-...-sp2500-high-power-2-1-pc-speaker-system.html

In windows 7, you can assign volumes to specific programs. Just click the mixer option when you pop open the volume. Might be a problem if you use the same program for movies and music.

Well I never had this issue with my Logitech system, I think I'm going to take it back and get the Klipsch pro-media system.

Yeah I even tried my Ipod and the same thing. I also have to turn up the sub all the way to make it audible. I'm returning this and getting either the Klipsch system or the I can get the Logitech Z623 on sale for $130.

Im not saying it matters, but if I were to buy speakers/surround sound for my PC at $250+ ima make sure I have a nice/good sound card to back it up. FYI, I highly recommand Logitech's Z906 Speaker System, superb!

I just picked up a set of Logitech Z623's, they sound a lot better with the on board sound. When I returned the Corsairs the guy said he had the same set at home hooked up to a sound card which is what Corsair recommends, good to know that now. Oh well, I didn't like the controller on the Corsair anyway.

You should have just got a sound card as well :)

I'd think that the onboard would have trouble driving a system like the Corsairs. Not so much for the Logitech's as they're really designed as a one size fits all with acceptable audio quality. Check the ohms rating for both systems, and what your onboard can drive.

I didn't really like the Corsairs, the controller interface was annoying and they were kind of ugly. These Logitechs do more then a good enough job and I got them for $110 which was a pretty good deal.

Really? I highly dout. Well, maybe if you had a $20 sound card from DIAMOND. Need something more like,ASUS Xonar, HT OMEGA, or even Creative Sound Blaster, these will back them high dollar surround sound speakers nicely. It also goes vice versa, if you got a $100+ sound card with $20 speakers, you still going to have shitting/weak sound.

No I meant the Logitechs sound better with the on board sound then the Corsair. I'm not to familiar with sound cards, what would be a good upgrade from Realtek? I saw the Asus Xonar for sale for $30, do you think it would be worth picking it up?
