connecting new sound card to the front jack?

Hi all,

I recently bought a new sound card so that I could use it with my new 5.1 speakers. I used to use the onboard sound before. I usually use the the jack in front of the computer panel for headphone, and it was working fine. But now that I have install the new sound card, the front jack stop working. What can I do to make it work again, please help.

i dont have a picture but im sure i could find one but its a long and flat plug. i really dont know how to explain it 2 u.
 
trace the wire from the front jacks back to the onboard card. Unplug it and then plug it in to the appropriate jack on the new sound card
