CompuTrace/LoJack

So I recently purchased a T60 laptop from craigslist, and to my surprise I found out that there is a feature called CompuTrace embedded in the BIOS and installed on the computer, I was shocked!!! ( please refrain accusing me of stealing, this is not the reason for my anger ) So I go to find out that this "feature" has a myriad of functions, all that a good spyware would. Now I use GNU/linux (Debian/Backtrack) on most of my computers, will this program still work on my system? I was trying to find a more thorough read on google but I found nothing. By the sounds of it the BIOS will dial in, but the more advanced spyware features require the service to be enabled in windows. What are the chances of this working in GNU/linux and how could I disable this as much as possible? As of current I don't feel comfortable modding a BIOS image and flashing the BIOS, I think I would brick it and I just purchased it and I have no money for another. Thank you for any help!!

You usually have to purchase this option every year for it to work. Can't you just disable it in the bios?

I did that, I have heard some people say that it will still update the server. I am going to use a protocol analyzer and hopefully catch it and drop the traffic on my router to that IP. I was just wondering if it would still work in linux? I think the screenshot feature and the like would be rather hard to implement in BIOS.
