So i thought it be a good idea to go to the garage and blow the dust out of the computer before the snow flies and now i turn it back on and it stays on for about 20 secs and shuts off with no warning.

Tried unplugging and plugging cables back in, even when to dos thinking it was mabie a windows issue and still the same thing. All the fans are working and also tried a second drive with windows and still shuts down. Any ideas? Help please

have a bunch of computers and family and also take to the garage.
Might pull the mem and video card and reset it. Something is different.
Maybe a small cable internal was hit during the blowout. Loose now.
Maybe pull and reset.

It sounds to me like you've bumped the cpu cooler. That sounds like the CPU is heating up and shutting down. Re-apply thermal paste and re-seat the CPU cooler.

Yep cpu cooler seemed loose so i took it off and you can see the paste is blotchy and wasted seated. The high pitch sound was to cpu heating up. Good thing for motherboard protection otherwise it would be a expensive cleaning

I'm just in the process now of cleaning it up and reapplying silver and reinstalling I'll let you know the end result. Thanks for the reply's ;)

Ok all fixed, it was the fan off the cpu. guess it wasn't on tight to begin with so i fixed that too.
