Computer won't boot?

I put together my computer on my own a year or so ago and it had been working perfectly fine. Last night we had some storms so I shutdown my computer and unplugged the power strip it is plugged into. This evening I plugged the power strip back in and pressed the power button on the front of the case. The fans started and I could hear the CD/DVD drive start up but the red HD light on the case just stayed lit red and nothing more happened...no signal to the monitor...nothing. The only thing I really notice is that when I flip the switch on the power supply, it makes a weird buzzing noise that I do not recall it making before. Any help would be appreciated! I have another power supply but I didn't want to go through the hassle of unplugging everything and swapping it out if that is not the issue.

Thanks.

Honestly, the power supply is the first thing I'd try. You could always simply unplug the power connections from the motherboard and not bother with the drives and what not until you confirmed it is or isn't the power supply.
