Computer won't boot, no BIOS screen, no response from the monitor

Hi,

I have Windows 7 64 installed on my computer and last time I booted, Windows froze while starting. I couldn't do else but to hold the power off button until it shutted down and next time I booted there was nothing - no BIOS screen, no motherboard manufacturer's screen, nothing. The monitor doesn't respond to the computer when started. There are many other malfunctions that appeared together with the boot problem - the system is half less loud then it was before(probably one of the two drives failed) and the case's LEDs died. It all looks like the BIOS would be erased.

Perhaps it is important to mention that I had multiboot for Linux Ubuntu, which was installed on the other drive than Windows. Also I had Grub and Windows boot manager installed.

System: 2x Samsung 320 GB (one with Linux and one with Windows)
Motherboard Asus M3A79-T Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 X2

Please if anyone has an idea what could be the problem, I would very much appreciate some help,

Thanks

have you tried this, remove your power chord, then hold the On button for 30 seconds to a minute, then connect it back then turn it on ;)

I think you forgot a step. If you are wanting him to reset the cmos then you forgot to tell him to remove the cmos battery after unplugging the power cord.

Ok, thank you all for your help.

I don't know what happend, but the system works again!

I unplugged it and removed one side of the case to see what's going on in there and then plugged it in again and it worked normally, only Windows had to run System repair install.

Thanks again
