I mean before I could have a 1gb file unzipped in 8 seconds or so, now it's taking up to a minute.. It used to take just 5-8 seconds to import a standard sized wav file to Audacity and now that takes about a minute as well.
It's also "sticking" I drag the mouse across the screen when doing something CPU/RAM intensive, the mouse will stay in place for half a second at a time.
Kind of worried, backing up all my data now.
What could the issue be? Which part is most responsible for performing these tasks? About a year ago I temporarily fixed my CPU fan, could it possibly be heat issues? It does the same thing regardless of what hard drive I use (multiple hard drives) my system drive is a solid state. PC is about 3-4 years old in total.
