So, last week my computer randomly decided that it was going to start taking hours to boot into an operating system. At first I didn't know it was even bootable and assumed it had frozen before starting to boot, I tried formatting the harddrive and using different operating systems; vista, xp and ubuntu.
The other night I randomly decided to leave it on and I awoke a few hours later to see that the screen had gone from being solid black with a blinking input cursor to a screen with white boxes on the bottom filling up, which seemed like a booting load bar or some such to me at the time, so I waited until it filled up, the process took 45-ish minutes and finished installing XP(I couldn't fully install any operating system because it wouldn't boot after the initial installation restart).
I've got it to where it boots in about 3 hours now. I've tried updating bios, drivers, and I can't really seem to think of anything else to try.
If anyone has some tips let me know.
