computer slower after registry modification

My computer didn't recognize the new dvd drive that I installed, so I went into the registry and deleted some of the values(upper filters/lower filters). Now the dvd drive works, but the problem is I've noticed a slight decrease in speed (applications taking longer to load etc.).

I cleaned the registry before hand and my computer was pretty fast, but now I get a bit of a lag. Just wondering if anyone had any info or could shed some light on what's going on.

Thanks. :D

what do you think is going on? You messed up the registry man! The best way to fix this would probably be running the windows disk and then repair...

Indeed people who dunno wtf they are doing should use tools like TuneUp Utilities that wont kill the heart of their PCs.

I would either system restore or format if you have the disc.
