Hey guys I'm having a couple of issues with my computer.

I was doing updates to my computer because I just recently installed
Vista. Updates finish everything is fine. New update appears and it's service pack 2 for vista I install it works good. It ws getting late so I decided to head to sleep started a couple downloads locked my comp and went to sleep.
Woke up turn on my monitor and I had the blue screen of death. Restarted my computer but after it says boot from disk I come to a error that the kernel is missing or corrupt. I restarted it several times same error. So I look up some solutions on then Internet and I use my installation disk to repair. No success I did a recovery still didn't work. So I tryd to do a clean install
But when it restarts to finish install it comes up with that error again .
So I thought that cleaning the inside of my computer would help so I took it apart dusted it off put it back together same error. Now when I go to repair it with the install disk I was getting a error for ram but not anymore.

Help would be appreciated.

I think you have serious hardware problems.Check to see if your HDD is working properly or at least try to replace it with any other HDD just to be sure that its ONLY the HDD problem.

Also try to format that HDD with special tools like Kill Disk before attempting to install Windows OS.

i may be wrong, but i've heard rumors that vista sp2 or 3 updates can sometimes be false, causing major hard drive problems. same thing happened to me coincidentially after updating to sp3. i had to reinstall vista completely, only before formatting the hard drive with cmd. Does the cd itself do anything when you insert it? It should say "press any key to boot from cd..." if not, boot the computer from the cd using F11 im pretty sure.

So you think if I bought a new hdd and ram problem would be solved?
I worded some stuff wrong it does say press any key to boot and it loads fine. Just repairing thru the install disk doesn't work. How could i wipe my hdd with cmd?

No. Blue screens can happen with just about anything. Blue screens can happen with everything from motherboards, to PCI cards.

When you turn on the computer, do you hear clicking, or any odd noises coming from the hard drive itself? I wouldn't jump to conclusions, if I were you. It really sounds like the update went awry.

I think it would be odd that Vista updates, then the next day you get a blue screen. Its highly unlikely that your HDD and RAM went out at the same time, for no reason. Doesn't seem like the hard drive to me. Has this happened before?

What most likely happened (and this happens occasionally with updates) is a file goes missing during the update.

I don't hear any odd noises coming from the HDD. I've had couple blue screens in the past but I threw them off. Btw the blue screens have stopped happening as of today.

Ok, so that rules out the hard drive as suspect.

Did you do anything in particular to correct the blue screen?

If it was working before the service pack and isn't after the update I'd suspect the install was corrupted.

If you can, reboot the system and tap F8 and try and boot into safe mode. From there you can uninstall the service pack and any updates if you want, and see if it works.

Then you can try to install it again.

You cannot get into the SAFE MODE,but can get into the NORMAL MODE?If that's the case then just uninstall the last updates and service pack from there...
