Computer problem!

Hey friends, I am plague of one problem associated with my computer. The problem is that that whenever I log in to computer, it takes to much time to get normal, I mean if immediately I try to start any program as soon as I am logged into my computer(desktop), it situation somewhat get like hanged(not hanged 'cos mouse works). I have unchecked any extra programs from startup through msconfig setup. Please suggest measures to prevent this.

Do a registry cleaner. Then defrag the registry. I recommend Vista manager if you using vista or winxp manager if you are using xp.

try to eliminate large files on the hard drive. this slows down the load time as well since windows is archiving the file for faster loading. in vista this is easier to be done than xp but itll help you out

Hi,it happend to my Sony vaio laptop after a installed Windows sp3 in conjunction with the DSL security suite,on top of that i had wireless drops outs, where i had to switch off and on the windows firewal,and some times not even that helped,so i removed SP3 and DSL security suite protection and now i don't have no more slow start and no more wireless drop outs,i'm good now but have no antivirus,but have windows fire wall.i know that i am at risk,but if i'm going to have problems with wireless with antivirus proctection,so i will take a chance,Note that when Ethernet cable was used exepet the slow start,connection was good.
