Computer Performance

Hi,

Not sure where to post this but here goes...

To keep my PC running as smooth as possible I do the following:

*scan my system daily for viruses using AVG
*scan my system monthly for malware using Malwarebytes
*keep Spywareblaster updated monthly
*do a disk cleanup monthly using Cleanup 4.5.2 (stevengould) or CCleaner
*defragment my PC monthly using Windows Disk Defragmentor

Is there anything else I should be doing to keep my system running efficiently?

I was thinking about getting a program to clean the registry, but some have told me that's not a good idea.

I read somewhere that MyDefrag is supposed to be a good program for defragmenting one's hard drive. Anyone have any experience with this program?

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Eddie

Either defraggler or Auslogic disk defragmenter. You should be using Malwarebytes like every few days. Ccleaner once a week, do not use the registry cleaner.

Defragmenting should only be used if you install and uninstall programs frequently.

To be honest with you I rarely do any of that stuff and my systems have all been running fine for a while now. I keep my anti-virus software updated and use CCleaner once in a while, but I don't scan daily and I certainly wouldn't use AVG these days and even when I had HDDs I never defragged.

I think if you are using the free edition of AVG you get rid off it and use Avast or MSE, they're also free and better in my opinion, and if you have Malwarebytes I doubt you really need Sypwareblaster.

Honestly; the best way to keep your PC running well is to refrain from installing software for the hell of it and avoid visiting dodgy websites. Download and install the add on Web of Trust for your browser which will stop you from visiting harmful websites. Works on pretty much all the big browsers out there. http://www.mywot.com/

I will use all strategy that you have recommended above.i use some strategy but here is some new strategy that i have never heard before.
