When I boot my computer, it goes into a black screen that says the following...
"we apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this."
and so on.
Now, there is a counter that counts down from 30. If I let the count down go down it'll try to reboot and will take me back to this same black screen.
I also have the choice to click Start Windows Normally instead of waiting the 30 seconds. Again, it'll try to reboot and take me back to this black screen.
I can move the arrows up and down to choose either Safe mode, safe mode with networking or safe mode with command prompt. I have tried all 3 and again, it'll try to reboot and take me back to this exact same black screen.
Is there anyway I can fix this and move on to my desktop? Or is there any way I can retrieve some information from my documents?
What can I do? I don't have the restore discs. This is a Windows XP, HP computer.
