Hi, let me introduce myself, I'm Josh, and this is my first post. I've always been into computers and am pretty efficient with them, and I am ready to learn from others, I am ready to enjoy chatting with others on this site, so I'm ready to learn, I am getting a feel for this site and what it's all about, and I am getting a feel for the level of advancement some members have, so bear with me. Remember, first impression is lasting impression, for a fool is judged by what comes out of his mouth so be polite, as I am getting a feel for this site. Please answer the following poll or/and just state your level and a little about yourself and I'd be happy to commune with you. Thankyou,

Note: moderators and administrators feel free, and thankyou for letting me be on your site, just don't remove this post without letting me know why in a pm, as thats just not nice:).

I'm a 6, so I have a long way to go, thanks for taking a little time to answer the question and be honest, I'm doing this because of the bad experiences I 've had at many pc forums, most of them were clichs, for some clarity the poll is limited in information, a 10 is being able to make games like will wright and tweak windows functions like make the taskbar flip and still function properly by default and make it change colors, or being able to understand the 1 and 0 language, so tell the truth, since very few people are at level 8, I look forward to communing with people and appreciate your time!

I'm a CIS AAS I know mostly about html. I have limited knowledge of networks and server active directory. I've done some C++ Programming. I have more questions than answers.

I'm an 8, but I don't program and any OS from XP through 7 should work with whatever computer I build.

Well, i can do pretty much anything with a computer except programming(All i know is web programming and vb). Id say a 10 as far as general computing knowledge and hardware, and maybe a 6 or so as far as programming, since even though web programming is mainly what i know, you use web development alot more in real world usage.

Your "list" there is FAR too narrow, just because someone makes a game doesnt make them good with computers. Heck, i can use FPS creator and make something halfway decent for a FPS, and i dont know anything about game creating.

I think
you can make a computer from scratch although it may not work with any os.

should be put under
you can tell other people a good pc to buy, and can judge software.

Knowing wtf your talking about is a lot harder then building a PC...you can buy crappy parts and make it...but takes a lot of research and knowledge to do it right.

(this is based off going down = higher level?)

I think the poll is not that good. The options are insufficient. U jump from a low level to an exceptionally high level.

I'm pretty low-tier, but gaining some considerable ground. Just this year alone I've learned more about networking and the inner workings of PCs than I have in all my previous years combined.
