Watch -> Niels Diffrient rethinks the way we sit down (TED video)

Here's a link to a place that sells the chair. It's $1,100.00 :D I won't be buying one just yet, but perhaps once I'm a fulltime computer programmer, this investment will look a lot more within reach.

Here's one of the comments under the TED video:

I've owned this Freedom chair for a little over 4 years and agree that it is very well designed and allows individuals to remain comfortable while sitting at their computer for endless hours. As a freelance Graphic Designer, it is essential that my task chair is ultimately functional and comfortable. This chair has met all of my expectations and more. I'm glad to say that my investment in this chair was worth every dollar. The gel seat is very easy to sit in for endless hours. I would recommend this chair to anyone who sits a long time during their work day.
In addition, I enjoyed hearing the creator, Niels Diffrient explain his logic as to why and how he engineered this fabulous chair. I knew that it moved with your body as you reclined, which is amazing.
Ideal chair for any design studio!

I spend about 14 hours a day at the computer, and I use a chair that was around $50 Cad at Staples. What is your sitting setup?

That chair looks very comfortable!

I think it's a bit too expensive though just for a chair lol.

I currently have a £50 hi-back chair which i purchased from Ebuyer,Its okay but after an hour it makes your ass each and the arm rests are not comfortable at all.

I'm eventually going to get rid of it and purchase an extra padded leather one i seen at Staples uk....

This one

I have a desk chair from Ikea at the moment.. costed 69 euro's, and its one of the most comfortable chairs i've sat on so far.

My chair at work is very similar to that. It costs about the same as well. At home I have like a $60 'executive' leather chair.

I am cheaper than you all!!

i was on a £4 folding chair that was the least comfy thing i have ever sat on.

Then, when my computer moved to a larger room, i got a £20 chair from Asda (that is British Walmart), and the thing is crap. The cushion in it is so poor that after 6 months the padding went and now you sit on the metal base plate. I have a £1 cushion on it to take the padding, so altogether, £21 and damn uncomfortable after a few hours

Why not pay for a decent chair? It's defiently worth it if you are sitting in it for more than a few minutes a day.

how can it fit me like a glove when he spend the last 12 years designing it? (I was still growing then.,.. quite a lot too! :P)
but tbh, I'd rather save some money, and bolt a fully adjustable Recaro seat to a chair base. looks better aswell. ^.^

This damn thread is a jinx!

Watch out everyone, Don't get a cylinder up the arse :P

Mine leaked :(

Using my other chair now, cost a bit more but It feels so weird

mines the best i spent a whopping $0 for it

i was cleaning out an old office block with some mates and the man said take what we wanted as long as it was gone by such and such
