Came up before. Just talked to a friend that is a rep and strictly a Intel builder. Laughed when i said considering a I7, more esata ports. Said hands down, barred none. USB 3 is a whip and no comparison. Seen that said at PC world magazine i think. Ok, i belief it now. Mentioned here also before.
I will get more next time.

eSATA is much faster than USB3.0 hands down. Plus USB 3.0 drives are too overpriced to offer such limited speed benefits compared to eSATA.

there isnt many things you can plug into a Esata port but still handy to have one in case you need one it is faster

usb 3.0 is still the best by far

eSATA is mostly storage devices anyway. And as far as "not plugging much stuff in", it also acts as a standard USB port so you can plug any USB device in it.

All right thanks. I can relax and make intelligent decisions for the next build.
Im also and will consider the Intel Vpro series. This will happen.
thank you.........

A lot of Gigabyte boards (and probably other boards as well) have both USB 3.0 and eSATA ports on the board, so no need to worry much.
