C-Media CMI8738 4-Channel PCI Sound Card
be better then the on board sound in my current P4VTE motherboard?

Also does the C-Media CMI8738 support OpenAL?

thats minimum if youre gonna upgrade, i mean thats what i bought it was a big improvement over my old 754 socket mobos integrated!
very clear sound outta that thing... nice card.

Most of the clearness is in your speakers then sound card anyways, and how exactly did you mean that out of what you said before it?
