Compaq won't boot.

It seems to be booting, but then refusing the password and re-booting.

Have you tried entering the bios and just let the machine sit in the bios and see if it cuts off ?

Thing is,it accepts the password,(otherwise you would see red message box) but as soon as it wants to boot into windows (7) it just turns itself off. (same happens when you insert a windows cd,and at the "press any key to boot from cd" it turns off). This does not happen in bios menu, however.

You said you did set a password, but I have had compaq machines display this password request even when no password was required and as it turned out compaq machines incorrectly display this message when the hard drive is faulty.

Do you have a spare hard drive you could try ?

Remove the password and try again. If it keeps doing it then it's probably a bad motherboard (big surprise coming from an HP product).

Can not.

Can't test it,since it's not a PC,it's a NOTEBOOK,which cannot boot into windows.

But still, when it begins Windows booting proccess,it turns off (crashes?) .It doesn't anywhere else.(BIOS)

Extremely need help.

Sure you can, its done all the time. You have to use a dos version of the diagnostic to test the drive. The drive isn't accessed until after bios post, that's the reason why it shuts off when windows loads. There must be some sort of issue with the drive.

You can take the drive out of the laptop and attach it to a regular desktop system and scan it that way using the windows version of the utility or you can download and create a hirens boot cd which has the toshiba diagnostic utility on it and run it.

http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens.BootCD.15.2.zip

Unzip that file, use burning software that will write iso images to cd and then boot to the cd.

Then it wouldn't be from a bad drive if it does this when no hard drive is attached to it. I would say something wrong with the electronics/motherboard. Have you tried resetting the cmos by removing the battery, then remove the cmos battery and then press the power button for 10 seconds then wait about 10 minutes and reconnect everything?
