comp wont detect network adaptor

Hey I just built a new computer and im trying to setup a network and stuff. The computer doesn't detect a network adaptor on the computer even though its there . What should i do?

try reinstaling the drivers for the network card.

The pci slot on the motherboard might be dead. try a different slot. Or if its built into the motherboard then either replace the board or go buy a $10 nic card.

What is your system specs, what computer do you have??? What network card is it that seems to be malfuctioning.
