Cobalt RaQ4i Rack Server Restoring Problems

I recently aquired a second hand Cobalt RaQ4i rack server with a damaged hard disk. I downloaded the restore cd from SUN and followed the on screen instructions but to no avail.

It tells me to put the cd into a computer and boot it from the cd while the Raq4i is connected to the computer via a cat5 cable. It then tells me to select BOOT FROM NET in the lcd screen on the raq4i front panel but it doesnt do anyhting. Just says "Loading Kernal...." and sticks like that for hours. Theres no network activity, No Cd drive activity in the computer.

Can anyone help me? Cany anyone suggest a way to load the files ontot he hard drive without going through this over complecated proccess that SUN has devised?

Cheers People!

well if you are pxe booting (booting from net) I can only assume its trying to boot your client off the server.

I don't mess with sun stuff so I don't know what else to say, other than try booting locally off that cd and don't do a net boot
