Is this something to be concerned about. It sound a little bit like a clock ticking. It happens during boot up and then goes away. Then it will happen if the computer is on for some length of time but does not get used. It will click 5 times and stop. Please help. Thank you. Frank.

New Seagate SATA hard drive.

Clicking sound usually means that the HDD is dying, but in some HDDs (very rarely) those sounds are even normal at boot up.

But it is a lot more often a sign of a dying HDD.So backup ALL your important data NOW IMMEDIATELY before it's too late rather than later paying thousands of dollars for a data recovery!

If it's crunching during HDD access, then that is a fairly normal sound. If it's a sharp ping sound here and there, then it is not a good sound.

Sounds aren't always a good thing, but noise during activity (like seek noise) is normal. As above, pings and other noises aren't.

Kernel for Windows Data Recovery is one such effective data recovery tool that has got the capability e of recovering and restoring files/folders lost after accidental deletion, virus attack or any other kind of logical error to access the data. In fact, the software makes a proper use of recovery algorithm that helps in restoring every single bit of lost information. Besides this, the tool is also very much capable of retrieving data even when MFT is damaged.
