Cleaning computer cables and wiring

Does cleaning the cables and wires help out with the speed of the internet?

If so, how often should it be done and what would be the recommended cleaner.
Also how often should the cables/wires be replaced?

No cleaning/not cleaning computer cables will not affect internet speed

Sometimes if a wire in the ethernet cable is damaged replacing it will improve performance/speed.

its the air inlets and outlets that tend to get clogged up with dust and the fans too , i know the fans still spin with dust on them , but it does do them any good your pc can soon overheat , as for the wires , in 12 years ive never had a problem with dirty wires , airflow is very important tho , it depends what evironment the pc is in as to how often to blow the dust out , just keep an eye on it

want more speed its likely your provider. Call them up and ask
about options to increase performance. Could be also if living
in say a residential you are being choked off from the neighborhood.
Other words, someone might be using a lot of bandwidth. The provider
knows who.

it can also depend on your router and the quality of the cables you are using you should use cat 5 shielded cables

First thing i would do is go to speedtest.net and click the "Begin Test". Once you have your upload/download speeds compare them with what you are paying for. If it is less than you are paying for then there may be an issue. Note that during times of high usage in your area, the speed will be somewhat lower. Try testing several times over the course of a few days during the day-time and night-time.

So for instance that you notice that regardless when you test your speed is always slower than what you pay for. If there isn't anything wrong with your equipment, contact your provider and talk to them about it.

If you pay for service that is slower than about 5Mbps download speed then I would upgrade if possible. I get about 10Mbps download speed and that is what I pay for, but depending on the time of day sometimes it runs as high as 11.5Mbps download speed or as low as 9Mbps download speed.

For instance, this is my speed:
